Hello! My name is Christy and this is my first appearance on the Glad Lash Blog! I am excited to share my knwoledge and insights with you all – let's get right into it!
What's With the Face Tats?
Have you ever met someone who decided to get a tattoo...on their face? If the answer is “No! you’re insane,” then you may be in for a surprise. Every day, more and more people are trying out the new and growing trend that is known as microblading, a.k.a. the application of semi-permanent makeup. This trend is normally used for eyebrow tattoos.
However, you probably may not even be aware of the amount of people rocking this look because it looks so natural that you can’t tell the difference! The thing that sets microblading apart from other eyebrow tattoos is that each individual stroke is done manually with a microblade, which simulates a natural brow hair. The results are beautifully fine hair-like strokes that shape the perfect brow for your face!
Microblading: Get Beautiful, Natural-Looking Eyebrows
When I first heard about microblading, I was skeptical about the whole thing. At the time, I did not have a single tattoo, and I absolutely wasn’t going to start by placing one on my face! Eventually, my mentality changed and so did my life! I always struggled with my eyebrows, but now I don’t! I wake up with nice, natural-looking brows that I can still enhance with GladGirl's Micro Eyebrow Pencil for a girls night out. The possibilities are endless. This definitely is not your grandma’s brow tattoo –nope, this is the stuff of the future!
At this point, you're most likely wondering why you should listen to what I have to say about this topic? The reason is, that I myself am a professional microblader from sunny Los Angeles, CA. I have been in the industry for about 4 years, and in that time, I've not only seen the trend grow, but I've also seen countless lives changed. I've worked on celebrities who constantly need to be camera-ready, as well as everyday people who’ve always wanted to wake up with on-point brows on their face.
I totally think that's a normal thing to want, yet the reality is that not everyone has that opportunity. I've also worked on numerous cancer and alopecia clients who have lost their hair. Instead of using eyebrow wigs that only last for months, some patients prefer microblading as it can be a more permanent eyebrow solution that lasts for years. These are the transformations I take the most pride in that remind me that makeup isn't just something we use to feel pretty –it's so much more.
In my eyes, makeup has always felt like the closest thing to magic to me. To me, a makeup artist is a magician. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am a devoted lover of fairytales. Every time I’ve managed to transform someone's life with new brows, I felt like Cinderella’s fairy godmother before the ball or the genie who turned Aladdin into a prince. Just as with all beauty-related procedures, microblading is time dedicated to transforming yourself.
Microblade Your Way to Perfect Eyebrows
Have I managed to spark your interest in this new breed of face tattooing? If so, I definitely recommend doing more research and then booking an appointment so you can change your eyebrow game.
I will be sharing more of my experiences in the world of semi-permanent makeup over the coming months on the Glad Lash blog, so stay tuned! What’s your experience with brow tattoos? Yay or nay? I’d love to know what you think about microblading! Let me know in the comments section below.

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
