Summer is that time of year we all look forward to with such excitement. We get a break from the long cold days of winter, with spring tempting us for the warmth that is about to come. We make our plans for vacations and trips to the beach so we can soak up some much-needed vitamin-D Ahhh, the smell of the fresh air, suntan lotion, and cool drinks. What’s not to love?
How about the fact that business can trend downward in those glorious months? How do we make those days in our business sizzle? We can stare at our half empty schedules and spend time wishing we were as busy as the rest of the year, or.. we can create some momentum.
With summer more than half over, there are things we can do to drive our clients back to the salon.
First, think about how busy we all are during summer. We have vacations, day camps for the kiddos, trips to the beach, picnics, and holidays to attend to. We can get overwhelmed –our clients can get overwhelmed, too.
To beat the heat, you can lure your clients in by offering a two for one service for a friend, a bonus service with a full service, or by launching a new service or product. This is a good time to plan and implement this. You can also spend more quality time with your current clients because you aren’t as busy at this time. It’s a great time to offer your existing clients a discount on a service they may have wanted to try. You have some extra time to do that now.
How about offering a lash lift or a lash and brow tint? It is easy to promote these services in the summer since we have a tendency to wear less makeup when it is hot. Also, LashLift is perfect to help save your clients time and keep them looking refreshed all summer. Check out this eyelash perm by Jessica Gendron...
So get the word out via email, text blast or social media blast that you are offering discounts for these services. Encourage your clients to bring a friend and serve up some tasty treats and specialty iced teas to make it even more refreshing.Let us know what you are doing to keep the sizzle in your business this summer. We love to learn new ways to help makeup businesses thrive at all times of the year!

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
