We love our clients and we are willing to bend over backwards to make them happy. In return, there are a few things lash artists wish clients knew before, during, and after a lash service.

1.How Important it is to Keep Lashes Clean

We wish our clients knew how much better their lash retention and the look of their lashes would be if they would use the products we recommended to keep them clean. As a lash artist, I send every new client home with a lash cleanser, a lash cleansing brush, and a few mascara wands to help keep the lashes squeaky clean. This After Care Kit will do just the trick to handle all lash cleansing needs.

This lash cleansing routine using the products in the After Care Kit will help with retention, the health of the natural lash, and the overall look of the lash extensions. It’s our duty to educate our clients on this cleansing process for safe and beautiful lash extensions.

2. How Time-Consuming Removing Makeup Can Be

We wish our clients knew how frustrating it is when a client comes in with makeup on the lashes. When slotting time on our schedules, we do not typically bake in time to remove makeup. Unless you are performing other esthetic services, we don’t plan on removing makeup in the allotted fill in time. So, we need to let our clients know to come in with clean lashes or add some time to do a makeup removal to their service time. We never want to give our clients grief but it is important they let us know if they need extra time with makeup removal. If clients let us know this in advance, we can accommodate their needs more easily. These Oil-Free Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes by Glad Lash are a great recommended item to make sure all of the makeup is wiped off before a lash service.

3. How Challenging a Service Can be While Talking

Sometimes we just need peace and quiet to do our very best work. In my personal practice, I prefer very little talking. I do, as most of us do, have very chatty clients who love to talk. I love to hear what they have to say but it can be a challenge to do my best job when clients chat away. The clients who are the most challenging are the ones that use hand gestures while talking. I literally have to chase them around to get a lash on. When they get wound up, I actually have to remind them that I have sharp tweezers near their eyes and that I do not want to poke them. It’s tricky to have to remind them that the service requires a soft approach and that holding still is super important.

4. How Going Ghost Leaves us with Questions and Worries

Lastly, being ghosted is challenging, too. After we see our clients for months or years, when a client just disappears, we worry. Did we do something wrong? Did you have a bad experience? Did you find someone else to do your service? What happened? We get involved in a client's lives over time – we celebrate big life moments and all the of the moments in-between that was shared with us. So when a client just doesn't rebook after so long we can’t help but be curious. Of course, clients don’t owe us any explanation but it would be nice to know! Are you forgetting these 4 essential things when going into your lash service? Make your lash artist's life easier by keeping them in mind. Just know how much we love and appreciate our amazing clients. We will continue to supply our lovely lashes while gently educating clients on why we want certain recommendations to be followed for better lashes and lash retention. Long live the health and beauty of lucious lashes!
