Wednesday Wink - Ring, Cup, Stone OH MY! - How to Choose the Best Fit for You

Wednesday Wink is back, Lash Lovers! And, I'm so excited to be a part of it as your new GladGirl Product Expert! My name is Janelle and I’m here to bring you the tips and tricks I’ve learned over my years as a licensed cosmetologist and lash artist. While lashing, I’ve found an incredible passion for mentoring up and coming artists, as well as continuing my education by soaking up every little bit of knowledge other lash techs are willing to share. The world of lash extensions can be confusing enough, but the choices around what holds your glue doesn't have to be. Today, I’ll be explaining your three options; ring, cup or stone, and why each one might be best for you.

Glue Ring

The most universally known tool for containing your glue while lashing is the finger bling to end all bling; the Glue Ring! Glue rings are a great option for most lash artists, because of the diversity they offer. Creating a killer classic cat eye, voluminous mega volume set, or something in the middle...? Rings have you covered with options ranging from a simple cup, dual cups for using multiple products at once (look at you, you multitasking queen), or the ring in the image at the top of this post, which was beautifully created for volumes. Featuring a dual cup, it allows you to add a second drop of glue to the opposite side, saving you time and product by not having to throw your ring out mid session! The grooves along the top edge of the volume glue ring help thin your fan base out when you swipe through it, as well as remove any excess glue on the lash. Rings can also be a fantastic option for lash artists just starting out, as they help streamline your process by keeping all of your lash essentials literally at your fingertips. So try out some glue bling, it’s better than diamonds.

Glue Cup

Next up on our glue containment journey, the glue cup! These multifunctional disposable cups are the perfect tool to have in your lashing kit if you prefer to switch up your lashing palettes and don’t want to worry about dealing with the dreaded glue cleanup at the end of the day. Stones

Stone or crystal palettes are the go-to if you prefer to have your adhesive on the side of your client, rather than right next to their eyes. This is the perfect solution for any clients that may be a bit more sensitive to adhesive fumes. You’ll also want this tool in your kit if you happen to struggle with temperature fluctuations in your studio. Our Jade Stones and Crystal Glue Palette are specifically designed to stay cold to the touch, which helps prevent glue from rapid drying. Want to bypass the messy glue clean up at the end of each set?
