Our businesses are not only our passion, but they are our livelihood. Whether starting out from scratch, or a seasoned pro, marketing your business is an absolute must. In this technological day and age of social media, there are plenty of ways to get noticed, and get your services in the spotlight. You will attract new clients, and keep the attention of your regulars. I have two hot tips to share with you, that won't cost you a dime! Today, I'm going to discuss the first tip...

Instagram Marketing

Instagram is a free marketing platform. Are you on The Gram? If not, let’s give you some tips on how to make fun, fresh ads for your business and services. First, you need some stand-out photos of your work, and clean “stock” photos to use. Content is minimal when using Instagram. Hashtags are a must to get your message seen.

Apps To Be Seen With

I love this app called Ripl. You can make little videos with your smartphone or tablet. Honestly, you can create a video in about two to three minutes, once you have your photos ready to upload. You can use up to seven photos, and it creates an animated, short ten second video. You can add text, and it allows you to link to your website. I try to make a video every week to highlight my business. This app also gives you the option of adding music, for a touch of whimsy. There are other apps out there that are fun to use, as well. Magisto is a free video maker that is easy to use - and again, you can customize your layout and music. These free apps are a wonderful way to showcase your talents, and create attention for your business. People love to look at videos on Instagram. I know I always click on them. I really like to see how creative others can get with their photos and content.

Share, Share, Share!

After you create your video, post it to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Instagram posts will allow you to add a message about you, and what you are promoting, along with a link to your website. And, of course you can add your hashtags too. Hashtags should all be related to your services (#lashextensions), and any other hashtags you want to add to your post should be there to attract those searching for the particular services and interests you provide. Give it a try - the only cost is your time! Stay tuned for tip #2 coming soon... In the meantime, check out some other ways to market your business in our Get Visible series. A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
