Lots of folks have been asking me for more information on providing mobile services! As I buzz around LA bringing people beauty, here is what I can share with you...

1. Be a Minimalist

Know your clients needs prior to appointment and bring just what you need. You’d be surprised how tiny a set up it is this way. Planning and packing your bag well is key.

2. Forget the Massage Table

Don't strain your body carrying a massage table. In a salon it's about the client chair. House calls are about the artist chair. Almost everyone has a bed and some people have massage tables in their house! Find a lightweight set up and you can eyelash anywhere when you get creative with your environment. The chair I use is a pilates apparatus that is much easier to carry than a massage bed. It comes with three height options.

3. Get Your Lighting Right

Lights are so important! This baby, by Glamcor, is lightweight and super easy to carry in a shoulder bag if you need to bring a chair in with you.

4. Have a Location Strategy

Don't drive all over town. Book smart! Location strategy promotes standing appointments in the lives of clients. In LA, the next town over feels like driving to a different state. I recommend staying organized and planning ahead to coordinate your peace.

5. Be Safe

Know who you are going to see. My preference is to only take referrals from people I already know. I also make sure someone knows where I am at all times by using the location friend feature on my iPhone. House calling rocks, but be smart! Do you provide mobile services? It's a whole different ball game than when clients come to you. I would love to continue exploring this topic with you. Leave your questions for me below and I will follow up! Till next time ;)

Do you need an establishment license if you’re doing it mobile? Also, can you do it in other states or only that of your license? Thanks so much:)

Thank You for the question, Connie! Am glad this post resonated with you :) There is a lot more to think about when doing on location, so i understand your feeling of complication. In an upcoming wink i am going to discuss how i handle this pricing wise & how to master being mobile <3

Thank You very much for all the great info. I have often thought about doing mobile lashes along with my suite but thought it to be too complicated. Do you charge more for being mobile? If so what percentage above your suite?
Thank You again for all your help.

Hiii Dora, thank you for your patience getting back. There is another version available in FOAM that is much lighter then the wood. Its a breeze to carry. I sit at the top of the arc for clients laying on their bed.

Thank you for the tips! I am wondering how you use your pilates chair vs the massage table? I must say, I have done house calls before and the heaviest thing I carry is my massage chair. I end up sweating up a storm before I even begin.

I am strictly mobile and have a hard time standing up the massage table. I will definitely look into the chair you mentioned here. Someone always knows where I will be to ensure my safety as well as the other stylists safety in the team.
