Positive Habits for Self-Love Lash Techs

With the eyelash extensions service booming into numerous lives this summer, more people are feeling the freedom of going makeup free - no filter required! Eyelash artists are empowering people everywhere to live their best life. How does one prepare to be a vessel for this love fest? Let's delve into four habits of self-love that will put you on the path to a more valuable eyelash practice...

1. Unplug

The world really is at our fingertips - sadly, at the expense of a nervous system overload! My recommendation is to find at least one hour, once a week you can commit to switching your phone to airplane mode. Set an alarm for yourself, if need be. Longer time stretches are better if you are lucky enough to have them free. Those WiFi waves from your phone and devices are going through your body. Turning them off is an automatic nervous system calming/detox.

2. Cold Water Therapy

Run you hands through cold water between appointments. Good for your muscles, joints and capillaries in your hands and wrists, this rinse will make your hands feel brand new and give your energy a perk up! It's also known for ‘grounding’, and believed to be able to clear your body of your previous client's energy.

3. Get Lashed!

Be an eyelash extension consumer... When was the last time you had your lashes done? For reals, I am sitting here with flares on, sans my precious eyelash extensions for over three weeks (check out my last confession)!! We all lead busy lives... ‘Me time' is the key to thriving in every other area of life. My go to’s are:
  • getting lashes,
  • going to the steam room, and
  • massages!
If keeping up lash extensions is a financial splurge for you, find an eyelash extension colleague. Both of you will be better artists for joining minds.

4. Unleash your Creative Side

Find a new hobby. I highly recommended painting or making art. Painting with watercolor is an extra bonus for the eyelash artist... It's therapeutic fun yes, plus watercolor teaches you to have a feather-like touch and pressure distribution while handling clients. ;) Don't forget to spoil yourself and make self-love a habit! It will enhance your services and your energy levels.
