No matter how late your night or early your morning, eyelashes can save the day… Well, they can save your look at least. Sure, you can curl and prep and coat your lashes with mascara, but why work that hard, or wait until you can make it to a mirror, when you can wake up with your lashes already done?
Customers LOVE single strand lashes for this very reason. Single strand lashes save them time in the morning, or whenever they’re glamming it up. And really, they can go sans makeup - as long as they’ve got those lashes working for them. For our constant on the go, need-it-immediately lifestyles, single strand lashes deliver!
Let’s Do a Lash Compare
Strip
There are three types of eyelashes, the basic being the strip lash, (also known as false or fake lashes). While strip lashes aren’t the most natural looking, they do achieve the look of longer lashes with all the eye-enhancing benefits. Unfortunately, applying strip lashes is not as easy as it looks. Think back to the first time you applied strip lashes: messy, awkward, and probably a bit frustrating. Lash glue all over! So, for a lot of women, false lashes aren’t the best option.
Flare
Then you’ve gotflare lashes. Flare lashes (also called cluster lashes) are a popular alternative to strip lashes, because they enhance with a more natural look, though not as natural as individual single strand lashes. Flare lashes are also difficult to apply. Salons and spas offer flare lash application, and many makeup artists amp up clients’ eyelashes with flare lashes for photo and film shoots. They go on relatively quickly according to the type of glue and the number of lashes applied. A typical application for a full set of flare lashes takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Depending on the glue used, and the expertise of the application, flare lashes can last anywhere from one day to two weeks.
Individual Single Strand
And now for my favorite —individual single strand lashes. Of the three types of lashes mentioned, single strand lashes are the lightest weight and the most natural looking.
The wonderful perk of single strand lashes is how customizable they are.
Application Method
There are two methods for applying single strand lashes: the classic technique of one extension to one natural hair…or the volume technique of multiple extensions to one natural hair, which gives the most natural and polished look. These semi-permanent lashes can also give you a more dramatic appearance - depending on the type and quantity of individual lashes used.
Uniquely Individual
Individual lashes have many variables including, but not limited to:
Color
Curl
Material
Thickness
Length
Shape
Creativity rules. You can apply single strand lashes with glitter… crystals… almost anything - to create completely unique looks! There are also a variety of application techniques. Depending on customer preference, you can stay more neutral using the classic technique, or amp up the volume with 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, etc. I enjoy applying individual single strand lashes using different configurations to create distinct looks. For instance, I recommend using four or five different lengths to achieve an irresistible natural look (graduating from shortest in the inner corner of the eye and increasing gradually to the longest lengths in the middle and outer corner of the eye).
Single Strand is the Way to Go
We all know the feeling of running around rushed in the morning. Treating your clients to single strand lashes saves them a lot of time and gets them out the door and onto their day with that much less stress. Not to mention, waking up to a set of gorgeous, all-ready-done lashes, can be a nice confidence boost. I like to think that a set of lash extensions helps women tap a little bit deeper into the remarkable beauty that shines within us all.Having treated thousands of clients, I find that the application process is actually a relaxing and luxurious experience. We all like to be pampered, and having your lashes done definitely counts! And hey, it’s a trend that’s not stopping. Individual single strand lashes are still in extremely high demand, and show no signs of slowing in the years to come. Glad Lash highly recommends that estheticians and cosmetologists learn how to apply individual single strand lashes. Most salons offer this service, for both added revenue and to ensure a steady stream of appointments, since fills are required every two to three weeks.Providing a single strand lash service will also help build your customer relationships and help you cross-sell other services. Granted, some people will just want lashes for special occasions, like weddings, parties and vacations, but others will get hooked and stay committed to keeping them up all the time.Any questions? Let me know in the comments. I love to gab about single strand lashes!

Hi, are there any people you know that apply these in California I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area but I can travel as far as Sacramento/ Rancho Cordova and places between. It’s hard to find single strand lash techs cause mostly all they know are the “fans” and those are like 5 strand units that don’t look very good in my opinion.

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
