With the holidays just around the corner, we get wrapped up in taking care of our clients. This time of year we are at full steam working to get all our wonderful clients' appointments filled. With schedule changes and hours that seem to melt into one another, it’s a joyous and hectic time of year. Remember to take a minute and enjoy the season. With that being said, it’s also time to think about your educational goals and reflect on the new year coming in.
Always Improving Your Craft: Professional Learning Goals
Every year, I like to get my training and education classes, conferences and tradeshows lined up. I like to do a little research to see what’s new in the beauty industry. My focus is usually lash extension related, but I’m always interested in new ideas, new products, and new processes. I like to be on the cutting edge of the latest glues, tools, organizers, lighting and other goodies that can make my job easier. Every year I attend at least one hands-on training and one trade show. I was always told by my educators in the past that the more education you have, the more you can charge for your services. Education = dollars.
Electric Energy to Get You Excited About Your Salon Business
I always come away from trade shows totally pumped up about my profession. The excitement and energy that is generated by excited, enthusiastic salon professionals are totally contagious! There is a buzz in the air, everyone crowds around the vendors to see what they are offering, demonstrating and selling. Everything from the smallest tool, to software and salon decor! Not to mention, I always run into a long lost friend or former co-worker. That is always a pleasant bonus. There are so many things to check out – some have made me double back to take a second or third look while others were instant purchases.
