We're getting close to that time of the year again. Will your business be ready? Do you have your action plan in place for the holiday season? Let me give you some pointers on how to freshen up your strategies for a fun and prosperous selling season.
1. Stock Up Your Shelves
Do an evaluation of what products you will need to stock up on. The holidays will see an uptick in traffic and services. People travel to see family and friends and of course they want to look their best. Fresh hair, nails, skin, and of course lashes. They have a tendency to want to look their best before they travel.
2. Order Supplies Before Thanksgiving
The season actually starts before the US holiday of Thanksgiving. So get your supplies ordered ahead of time so you are locked and loaded for the increase in business.
3. Get In the Holiday Spirit
Refresh your salon decor to reflect the spirit of the season. You don’t have to go all out if you are on a budget, just a few strategic holiday items will set the mood. This will set the stage for your busiest time of the year. This holiday decor gets you, your staff, and clients in the “holiday mood”.
4. Make Sure Enough Hands Are on Deck
Are you staffed appropriately? Do you need to extend your hours for the holiday season? Get your plan in place and bring on the skilled practitioners you will need to accommodate the increase in business. Maybe think of getting a receptionist to handle extended hours and to assist in retail sales.
5. Play Santa at Your Salon
Do you have the products to retail to your clients for gifting? Along with your normal retail, plan to sell gift items, gift baskets, and gift cards.
