There are so many innovative tips and tricks, and so many beautiful up-and-coming lash artists out there. What an amazing community we work in! Here's what I'm loving on the interweb right now!

A Money Saving Tip for Everyone

Do you want to reduce your cost per service up to a couple of dollars!?! Of course you do, check this out... If you’ve broken down your overhead costs, you know gel patches are one of the pricier items per service - though I’ll never go without patches! That’s why I was sooo happy to see this Instagram post in the hashtags.
Lash-Tips-From-Instagram Thanks to @agata_lashartist for the tip!
It's best to cut the patches in advance, while they are still attached to the plastic liner. Use large fabric scissors - sharp scissors that are used only for this task if possible - to insure sanitation and a perfect cut every time. My favorite combo with a gel patch is the Nexcare blue tape :) For me, the duo is like heaven. It provides a perfect fit every time, with lots of client comfort.

Honest Feedback, Talking Shop

Do you find yourself with questions as you practice advancing your skills? It's amazing how much value is being made for independent contractors on Facebook lash/beauty private groups. Post your work and get feedback! I have so much admiration for the brave beginners who post their initial full-set attempts. It truly is incredible and seasoned lash artists just swoop in to help.

Friendly Wink

To post or not to post, that is the question. One of my favorite features of our online communities is client correspondence. Being a great receptionist is an art form in itself. Colleague feedback can be helpful when it comes to setting boundaries, and keep in mind the value of client privacy. No matter how LOL the message, always ensure cover identities. Corresponding secretary posts can turn into venting real quick. Always take deep breaths.

Expert Advancement through Co-Creating

Bloom where you are, Lash Lovers... Reach out and say hi, meet other artists you love! Collaboration empowers my personal practice enormously, allowing me to focus on my art while growing in a community and as part of a team. There is a collaborative blueprint for bigger picture success, activated when we all focus on our gifts and share what we know. The quality goes up up up, and we get to work in an industry that improves every day. xoxo
