Tis' the Season for Lashing

Hello Lash Lovers! Makeup Artist, Heather Coopersmith, has some outstanding tips to help you shine this holiday season. Holidays are a time for reflection, celebration and beautification! Who doesn't want to put on that extra little sparkle for a holiday party? And with that being said, tis' the season for our Glad Lash 'Get the Look'. Champagne toasts all around!! For my model Jamie's holiday makeup look...I wanted to her to dazzle! Before makeup application...it's essential to prep the skin. I used eye drops, Vegan under eye cream and an Embryolisse moisturizer. We all know how dry our skin can get during the Winter...drechhh! Then time to start on the eyes. I knew I wanted the eyes to sparkle with some glitter so I started with a cream base on her eyelids that would act as a glue for the main attraction. I then added a Stila foil cream on top in Kitten then added some gold glitter on top of that....layers of makeup fun! I also added a touch of glitter to the inner corners of the eyes because it's never enough! I cut Jamie's crease which means I went in with a strong crease color to add depth, lined her upper and lower water lines with a black kohl pencil, used Benefit's They're Real push up liner for the top lash line with a skinny wing out, curled lashes and put mascara on, then decided to dust the bottom lash line with a complimentary bronze loose powder. Time for LASHES!! Since we wanted to give a dramatic effect...we opted for the Katie Strip Lashesfrom #GladLash which were beyond perfect for this look. They are dark in color and fan out with a concentration of lash in the middle. I trimmed them a bit at the inner corners because the lashes were a bit too long as well. Always make sure you try the lash on first before adhering them to the lash line to see if indeed, you have chosen the correct type of Lash for your Look and the length is correct for that person's eye shape. Her liquid foundation was from Smashbox and used a highlight/concealer from MAC. Contoured her cheeks, nose, jaw and forehead. Added a pink cream blush to the apples of her cheecks. Set the makeup look with powder. Added more blush and powder contour, filled in her brows with an Anastasia palette in Brunette. Lips were such a great color for Jamie! I took a Makeup Forever Aqua Lip color in 10c and added an Obsessive Complulsive Cosmetic lip tar in Strumpet to her lips and wallllah, the perfect long wearing color for whatever fun parties are in store for her. A berry color on the lips will always make your teeth look whiter as well...so bonus! This 'Get the Look' will get you in the mood to party, party, party!!
