Last week, we discussed the benefits of lashing up the bride for her big day. This week, I want to delve into the exciting looks we can create for the whole bridal party, and explore the different styles on offer!
There are soooo many lash styles to choose from that it can quickly become overwhelming to pick the best one for your makeup, and for the look you want to achieve. I'm here to simplify this for you. I have options for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom. I'll help you create a "Happily Ever Lashed" look that will be unforgettable!
The Bride
The bride will be the center of attention, with all eyes on her, so let's keep this in mind. The makeup look can be natural, "glammed" out, dramatic, and/ or classic... In an effort to keep this look focused on center-stage, I would suggest GladGirl's Royal Lashing strip lashes or GladGirl's Strip Bare strip lashes.
The Royal Lashes give off the Queen For A Day vibe that every bride should experience. There is a concentration of fullness in the middle of the lash band which really steps the gaze up! On the other hand, the Strip Bare lashes are just plain sexy - with a light and airy feel to them. These accents will make any bride even more exquisite than she is already!
Royal Lashes are full, but delicate and light - and the evenly spaced, alternating lengths announce royalty with a lush and natural effect.
The Bridesmaids
The bridesmaid's look should complement the bride - and definitely not compete with it. Usually, the bride will say that whatever makeup look the girls want, you can do. As a makeup artist, it's great to have creative freedom, but we also have to do what's appropriate.
The lashes that I would choose for a bridesmaid are GladGirl's Strip Lashes in Au Naturel and/ or in May (coincidence? I think not!). It's all in the name. I believe, the Au Naturel option mimics one's own lash line for the most part - so it's essentially a more natural looking style. Whereas, the May lashes flare out, and give your flutter some intensity. It doesn't matter which you choose - champagne toasts will never look so good!
Glad Lash's May strip lashes are so in season right now, and are the perfect accompaniment to the bridal party.
The Moms
The moms - and let's not forget the grandmas - are also needing some lash love. In my experience, most moms and grandmas want to look very natural, without wearing a lot of makeup. Or, they wish to look like themselves, but embellished a little bit.
What does this mean when speaking lash style? It means either using GladGirl's Lash Accents or individual flares as the accessory piece to their makeup. The accents are just for the outer corners of the eyes, and give a natural appeal for this special occasion. Individual flares come is several sizes, and the look can be customized accordingly when applied. These are extremely natural looking and light. No one will be the wiser, face-to-face!
These Accent lashes are worn on the outer corners, and really open the eye up!
Pro Tip
Use GladGirl's Lash Lock waterproof glue to adhere lashes. My number one tool to apply lashes onto your eye is this Strip Lash Applicator - its curved construction allows for an easy false lash transition onto the eyelashes.
