Last weekend I had the opportunity to be a part of GladGirl's team at the Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure event at Dodger Stadium. This foundation's event is described as "the world's largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created."
Glad Lash has been a long time supporter of Komen and this year we were a part of the Survivor's area where we were given the opportunity to help women with eyelash applications, brow shaping, and makeup. It was an amazing experience to be able to be there for these women, their friends, and their families.
A Race For The Cure Survivor gets lashed by none other than Esther Bolkin, Glad Lash Founder!
This event raises money for the continued search for breast cancer's cure, and is special in that it personalizes the cause. Women who were moms, friends, daughters, wives, and grandmothers sat in my makeup chair and told me their stories. Their faces lit up at the chance to have beautiful lashes applied by the master herself, Esther (owner of GladGirl), getting their brows done and having their makeup professionally applied. Because of their cancer treatment, many of these women had significant hair loss and changes in appearance. By giving them a day of salon-worthy care, our hope was to treat them to the feeling that you experience after a day at the salon - beautiful and ready to take on the world! Their personalities and strength shined through, making the day all the more worthwhile.
GladGirls's false lashes and makeup were a huge hit with Survivors.
Smile lovely ladies! Miss South Bay pageant contestants.
Supporting this cause and being able to give back alongside my GladGirl family was such a treat for me. The Survivor's tent was such a special place, as we came alongside these wonder women to help them take a respite from their fight to kick cancer's butt. Props to the other feel good vendors who were there, from nail technicians to masseuses. That day was all about making everyone feel special and I think we achieved just that. I was thrilled to be apart of this experience!
Til next year!

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
