Hauntingly Beautiful Halloween Looks

Halloween isn’t just spooks and ghouls and all things frightful. All Hallows Eve is a time for the sophisticated glamour girl to take dress up to a whole other level. Whether you design your makeup around your costume or your costume around your makeup, if you’re stuck on ideas, what better place to look for inspiration than the runways? Ditch the everyday, and paint your face proudly with the over-the-top runway look of your pick. Perfect for Halloween!

Blood Red Bonanza

If you’re a nudist (with your makeup that is), Halloween is the perfect opportunity to be bold with blood red. Unless you’re dressing as a drag queen this Halloween, keep the red isolated to one feature. Wash your face white with a soft white powder (no need to go overboard with cakey face paint) and sculpt your lips a deep blood red. Deaden every other feature, including your eyebrows, so that only your lips pop—lash extensions are, of course, allowed. This haunting look works well for a vampire, dead bride or corpse getup. If you want to add a dash of creepy, extend the blood red from your lips to your chin…it may end up there by the end of the evening anyway! Slightly less sexy and more spooky are red eyes. Mask your lips and eyebrows with concealer and outline your eyes, both the lower and upper lids, with a sinister shade of red. If you can’t quite muster the courage for red, then go for the deadly look with a softer pink.

Futuristic Fun

There is always a slightly futuristic vibe on the runway, with wild, colorful eye makeup and outrageous headpieces you couldn’t possibly get away with…unless it’s for some Halloween razzle-dazzle. You can never go wrong with black eyeliner and cat eyes, but why not get a bit more creative and paint your eyes with every color of the rainbow? If you need some inspiration, copy one of Lady Gaga’s signature eye-makeup looks. Use a paint kit to draw on crystal-studded gems for some out-of-this-world allure. Or keep it simple. Don a black wig (or go crazy with pink or electric blue), pale up your face, paint your lips black and put in some light contacts for a glimpse into the year 3015. If you’re crazy for hats, opt for a feathery and wide headpiece. And if you’re just not content without a bit of face/body paint, then go all out with glitter paint. You’ll definitely be noticed…and leave a shimmering piece of yourself behind everywhere you go! Whatever runway Halloween look you choose, do not leave those lashes naked. Halloween is the time to apply those falsies with pride. The longer and more voluminous the better. Heck, eyelash extensions may just be the only costume you need! Halloween Beauty Looks
