It’s your big day, and there’s no room for mishap. Everything is perfect—the dress, the flowers, the groom—and your makeup should be too! So we’ve got some tips for you bride-to-bes, from what type of eyelash extensions to wear, to how to keep your makeup looking fresh and natural all the way from “I do” to bidding your guests a fond “adieu.”
Preparing Your Canvas
Tip #1: Keep some oil-free blotting sheets handy. Rather than blotting away oil and sweat (we’re assuming you’re cutting a rug on the dance floor) with powder, which only makes you look cakey and overdone, keep your canvas oil-free with some blotting sheets.
Tip #2: On your wedding day you truly are center-stage. Apply a bit more makeup than you normally would to avoid looking blown out in your wedding photos. Keep it natural and classy, but go for a tad more pop.
Tip #3: You’re wearing white, so it’s absolutely imperative to protect against makeup smudges! Use a primer, especially an eyeshadow primer, to keep those colors off your dress. Dab a tad of makeup remover on a Q-tip to fix any smudges.
Tip #4: Keep those cheeks soft and romantic. Rather than going for Maleficent cheekbones, add a soft touch of blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend out to your temples.
Tip #5: Keep your eyes bright and awake by adding a touch of shimmer to the inner corner of your eyes. You can apply dark shadows to the outer edges of your eyes, but keep the colors light on the inside!
Tip #6: Don’t forget those eyebrows. Your eyebrows frame your eyes, so be sure to fill them in softly with an eyebrow pencil or powder.
Tip #7: It’s your wedding day—expect some tears and plan accordingly. To ensure a tear-resistant face, use waterproof makeup everywhere. Rather than applying mascara that’s sure to run down your face with those joyful tears, apply eyelash extensions.
Say “I Do” to Eyelash Extensions
Whether you’re going for Hollywood glamour or flirty romantic, it’s a good idea to splurge on eyelash extensions. Three varieties are suitable for your bridal needs:
Synthetic:Glad Lash Salon Professional Mink lashes are ideal if you are looking for exact sizing with individual lashes.
Silk: Made of raw silk synthetic fiber, Glad Lash silk lashes are flexible and uber-soft, and come in a variety of lengths and thickness.
Mink: Glad Lash offers 100% authentic, cruelty free Siberian Mink for the most natural look and comfortable feel.
We recommend experimenting with lash extensions at least a month before your wedding to make sure you get the look you want. If you are new to falsies, you’ll want the dress rehearsal to get comfortable and used to not pulling, twisting or tugging on your new lashes.
Your Honeymoon and Beyond
The beauty of going for extensions over strips or flares is that they last through your honeymoon, no compromise needed. You can swim, sunbathe, dive, whatever activities you and your honey have planned!
During your honeymoon give your lash extensions some TLC by keeping them moisturized. Use one of Glad Lash’s aftercare coating sealants to help protect and moisturize your extensions. Our “Longer Life” Coating Sealant in Clear or Black protects your lashes from water, sweat, dirt and more! Give your lashes a rest at night by sleeping on your back, and brush them out gently with a disposable mascara wand occasionally.
Congratulations on your wedding, beautiful…may you have many happy years together!

A smooth, flawless wax can leave your skin looking and feeling incredible, but proper aftercare is essential to maintain those results and keep your skin healthy. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and needs extra attention to avoid irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs.
